Ms Lika Torikashvili, a Georgian teenager and five of her friends took some balloons and a guitar to a hospital in Tbilisi to cheer up patients with colour and music. This small but powerful and beautiful gesture inspired a global movement.

During 15-22 May 2016, Embassy of Georgia in Pretoria organized a concert tour for New-York based renowned Georgian pianist David Aladashvili. The Concerts were  dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the Restoration of the Independence of Georgia.

On 17 May 2016, at the Cape Town Philharmonic's CEO Louis Heyneman's lounge, David Aladashvili performed one of his successful recitals. Influantial South African music expert, critic and blogger Andy Wilding published on his blog ( https://andywildingfmr.wordpress.com )  a very positive review of David's Cape Town recital.

On 13 May 2016 Zimbabwe daily newspaper "Herald" published an article "Hlongwane Meets Georgian Ambassador-Together as Brothers" on the meeting of H.E. Mr. Beka Dvali, Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Zimbabwe (with residence in Pretoria) with Mr. Makhosini Hlongwane, Sport and Recreation Minister of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

He said Georgia is keen to establish ties with Zimbabwe in various areas of its diverse economy.
